"We Are Women's History" Short Sleeve T-Shirt

March is Women’s History Month, and it’s the perfect opportunity to honor some of the incredible women who have shaped our laws, our culture, and our lives—and also to recognize the crucial work that is still ongoing to break down barriers and advance equity.

To both celebrate our history and continue to spread the message that our work to protect ALL women—trans women, cisgender women, women of color, poor women, queer women, immigrant women, Indigenous women—is far from over, MoveOn has worked with artist Fanesha Fabre to create this special-edition “We Are Women’s History” shirt.

Here are just a few of the women featured on this shirt: 

Shirley Chisholm was the first Black woman ever elected to Congress, where she became known as “Fighting Shirley” for her fierce dedication to racial and gender equity as well as to ending the Vietnam War. In 1972, she became both the first woman and the first Black person to ever seek a presidential nomination from either of the two major political parties.

Dolores Huerta is one of the most influential labor leaders of the past century. She worked with César Chávez to found the National Farm Workers Association/the United Farm Workers’ Union, and she organized multiple large strikes to protest the poor working conditions faced by farmworkers. Her work led to the passage of multiple laws protecting the rights of workers, which continue to impact hundreds of thousands of workers today.

Mae Jemison became the first Black woman ever to travel to space in 1992. Since then, Mae has led efforts to use science and technology to advance social change, and she currently serves on a special government taskforce working to ensure that interstellar travel is possible within the next 100 years.

These women join others, including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Kamala Harris, and Malala Yousafzai, on these beautifully designed shirts. We hope that you will wear them proudly and share their stories with your family and friends.
